Jeffrey John Schulze, 53, of New Milford, died unexpectedly Dec. 25 at his home.

He was born June 3, 1959, in Danbury, a son of the late William J. Sr and Helen Blonski Schulze. He was a 1977 graduate of Brookfield High School and was the star center of its football team all four years.

He was an area resident his entire life. Mr. Schulze moved to New Milford from Brookfield seven years ago.

He was a self-employed carpenter who also enjoyed vegetable gardening and fishing.

Mr. Schulze was an avid Giants and Yankees fan and loved animals.

He is survived by his black Lab, Charley; a brother, William J. Schulze Jr., of Brookfield; two sisters, Pamela Smart, of New Milford, and Cynthia Craft, and her husband, Christopher, of Brookfield; two nieces and a nephew, Cristin Craft; Kimberly McDermott, and her husband, Richard; William Schulze, and his wife, Stephanie; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Friends will be received Saturday from noon to 3 p.m. at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, where a prayer service will take place at 2:30 p.m.
