Jeannine Ann (Shivers) Green, 74, of Roxbury, died Feb. 13 following many struggles with cancer.

Ms. Green was a global project manager, author of "Roxbury Tales: Place-Name Stories" and co-author with Eileen Buchheit of "Roxbury and Bridgewater: Images of America."

She was known for her inquisitive intelligence, compassion, sophistication and lilting laughter.

Many have benefitted from her volunteer efforts in Roxbury.

Ms. Green is survived by a sister, Dolly Shivers, of Mt. Tremper, N.Y.; a brother, James Shivers Jr., of Norwalk; and her longtime partner, Isabel Cymerman, of Roxbury.

Burial will be private in the spring. A memorial will take place at a later date.

The Lillis Funeral Home in New Milford is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Doctors Without Borders by visiting www.doctorswithoutborders.org.
