Jane (Blasick) Dobson, 93, died Aug. 2, 2010, at her New Milford home, surrounded by her family. She was the widow of John Dobson, to whom she was married for 54 years.
Mrs. Dobson was born March 5, 1917, in Swayersville, Pa., as one of eight children to the late Tofil and Josephine Blasick.
Her house was known as being the center for good food and special attention, and she was known as the glue for all the family members.
Mrs. Dobson is survived by six children, all of whom she referred to as her "jewels," Geraldine Massari, of Raleigh, N.C., James Dobson, Janet Toth and Philip Dobson, of New Milford, John Dobson, of Darien, and Joan Glazebrook, of Winter Park, Fla.; 17 grandchildren, Andra Mattaliano, Anthony Massari, Alex Toth, Daniel Toth and Annie Toth, of Boston, Christine Budniewski, of Raleigh, Gayle Olson, of Shelburne Falls, Mass., Julie Dobson, Brian Dobson, Tom Dobson, Devon Dobson and Philip Dobson, of New Milford, Katherine Dobson, of Durango, Colo., Jonathan Dobson, of Crestone, Colo., Jane House, of Nashville, Tenn., and Daisy Glazebrook and Becky Glazebrook of Woodshole, Mass.; four great-grandchildren, Lacey and Jack Budniewski, of Raleigh, and Mariella and Mark Mattaliano, of Boston.
A private memorial service will be held in late summer for close friends and family.
The Lillis Funeral Home of New Milford is in charge of arrangements.
