Jack McGarrity, 67, lived in New Milford

Jack (John) J. McGarrity, 67, of New Milford died Feb. 2, 2012, at Yale-New Haven Hospital.

He was born Feb. 20, 1944, in Manhattan, N.Y., son of the late Delia and Thomas McGarrity. He was raised and educated in Bronx County, N.Y., and spent most of his working years in California as a sales manager.

He settled with his family back in Connecticut where he resided the past 11 years.

Mr. McGarrity was known for his outgoing personality and caring ways which brought happiness to all who knew him.

He was thankful for the success of his liver transplant and the 10 extra years of happiness at 24A South Main St.

In addition to the love of his life, Jan Sanson, Mr. McGarrity is survived by a brother, Thomas McGarrity. He was predeceased by a sister, Anne.

Memorials may be made to the New Milford Ambulance Corp., 1 Scovill St., New Milford, CT 06776.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated tomorrow (Saturday) at 10 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Church, Route 109, New Milford. Burial will follow in Center Cemetery in New Milford.
