A 19-year-old bicyclist was hit by a van Sunday night, Aug. 16 while riding in the crosswalk by the Big Y supermarket along Kent Road (Route 7 North) in New Milford.
Sebastian Bonilla of New Milford was struck about 8 p.m. by a southbound van at the intersection of Route 7 and Bridge Street, police said.
He was taken to Danbury Hospital with undisclosed injuries, treated and released on Sunday.
Bonilla was found to be at fault in the accident because he was crossing the road against the traffic light, police said.
The driver of the van, Manuel Vincente, 48, of Bel Air Drive in New Milford, was charged with driving with a canceled registration but not with any charges related to the accident, according to police.
