Housatonic seeks support for all-night grad party

Project Graduation is under way in Kent and throughout the Region 1 school district to raise funds toward the inaugural all-night, chemical-free party for Housatonic Valley Regional High School graduates planned in June.
The school district will be joining numerous communities across the United States, including neighboring New Milford, in providing an event to keep the school's young adults off the streets and possibly prevent a tragedy.
Schools officials and event organizers also hope to send a powerful message to the graduates that their community cares about them.
The 2013 HVRHS senior class is in need of the Region 1 communities' support for Project Graduation.
Monetary contributions are needed to help defray the cost of entertainment, food and beverages. Gifts of $500 or more will be recognized as official event sponsors, with recognition in information distributed about Project Graduation.
The Northwest Corner Prevention Network was among the first sponsors.
The project also needs donations of prize items and gift cards to be raffled throughout the event, as well as parent and community volunteers to help that night.
Donations, tax deductible as allowed by law, payable to HVRHS Project Graduation should be mailed to HVRHS: Project Graduation, 246 Warren Turnpike, Falls Village CT 06031 or contact Matthew Harnett, principal, at 860-824-5123 or email@example.com.
