The New Milford Visiting Nurse Association's Hospice Program will hold its annual volunteer training program beginning April 18.
Training will consist of five evenings from 5 to 8 p.m. at the VNA office at 68 Park Lane Road (Route 202).
Trained volunteers are needed to provide a myriad supportive services to terminally ill patients and their families.
Those services may include family respite, patient support, transportation, errands, help with paperwork, child care, bereavement programs and more.
Volunteers are also needed for clerical duties within the VNA and Hospice and agency events.
For clerical and event volunteers training is not mandatory.
Advance registration for Hospice volunteer training is required by calling Sarah Mott, Hospice volunteer coordinator, at 860-354-2216.
