Holiday in the Depot to be held

The 21st annual Holiday in the Depot will be held Dec. 14 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. in the town center.
There is no snow or rain date.
Festivities will kick off with the lighting of the town Christmas tree by aspecial guest at Bryan Memorial Town Hall.
Students from Washington Montessori School will sing carols at this time.
Santa will arrive by hay wagon shortly after the tree lighting and will be available to visit and have his photograph taken with children until 8:30 p.m.
Other offerings will include caroling by troubadours from the Gunnery School, cookies and cocoa by the Girl Scouts, the sale of Christmas ornaments by the fire department's ladies auxiliary, children's crafts by Gunn Memorial Library, face painting by Shepaug Valley High School senior Gina DeMeo and hayrides.
The sale of gift items and a raffle for a wreath and poinsettia will be offered at the senior center.
Letters to Santa may be mailed at town hall.
The Washington Primary School PTO will sell baked goods in front of town hall from 6 to8:30 p.m.
Other activities will also be offered around town:
Clifford the Big Red Doc will visit businesses to meet his fans,
Members of the Washington Business Association will sponsor a drawing for a Mini iPad and a gift basket of goodies.
Tickets will be available at participating businesses from 6 to 8 p.m. and should be dropped off at Washington Supply for the drawing at 8:30 p.m.
The Hickory Stick Bookshop will host a book signing with Florence and Wendell Minor, featuring "My Bookstore," an essay they wrote on the shop, from 7 to 8 p.m.
Mo the Magician will be show his tricks at Washington Supply and Outdoor Living from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Other activities will be featured throughout the Depot.
