Holiday events planned in Kent

The Kent Chamber of Commerce will play host to the Kent Celebration of Light, a month-long series of holiday events.
The Kent Community Nursery School will hold its annual pancakes with Santa event Dec. 14 from 8 to 11 a.m.
The event will take place at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church at the corner of Main Street and Route 341.
Offerings will include visits with Santa, crafts for children, door prizes and a special mailbox to receive letters to Santa.
Admission is $5 per person. A family maximum of $20 will be charged.
The Kent Historical Society will hold its 13th annual Colonial Christmas Celebration Dec. 14 from 5 to 7 p.m.
Food and wine will be served at the event to be held at the Swift House on Maple Street.
The menu varies from year to year, since most of the food is donated; recipes are often exchanged at the event.

The Kent Volunteer Fire Department will sponsor a parade of lights event Dec. 14 at 6 p.m.
Photographs with Santa will be offered Dec. 15 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Backcountry Outfitters on Route 341.
Kent Memorial Library will hold its holiday boutique through Dec. 31.
The boutique at the Main Street library will feature the sale of children's books, scarves, journals, notepads, jigsaw puzzles, Beanie Babies, small books suitable for stocking stuffers and larger books.
The boutique will be open Mondays through Fridays from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
