Holiday events planned in Kent

The Kent Chamber of Commerce has announced numerous holiday events that will take place in town in the coming days:
Singers are urged to bring their own scores, which will also be available for rental or purchase at the door.
Admission, which will include a post-event reception in the parish hall, is $20, with proceeds to benefit the church's music fund.

Several activities are planned for Dec. 1.
Santa will be on hand for photographs with guests' cameras from 4 to 4:30 p.m. at N.M. Watson Wild Bird Supply at 1 Kent Green Blvd.
It will be followed by the annual tree lighting at 4:30 p.m. with Santa and Mrs. Claus on the Kent Green, caroling, cookies and hot cocoa with Santa and Mrs. Claus at the Fife 'n Drum, and the lighting of the tree at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church.
A children's cookie-decorating session with Patsy Stroble will be Dec. 8 at Kent Kitchen Works, 6 Kent Green Blvd.
Participants must be accompanied by an adult and be prepared to work with color that can stain.
A $20 fee, to be donated to the Kent Food Bank, is requested.

The Kent Community Nursery School will host its 17th annual Pancakes with Santa event Dec. 8 from 8:30 to 11 a.m. at St. Andrew Episcopal Church at the corner of Main Street and Route 341.
Offerings will include photographs with Santa, as well as door prizes, a special mailbox to receive letters to Santa and, new this year, a holiday shop where children may buy gifts for loved ones.
Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for children 3 to 12 and free for 2 and under; family maximum of $20.
The Kent Volunteer Fire Department will host a stuff-a-truck event Dec. 9 at the 28 Maple St. firehouse.
New, unwrapped toys and nonperishables will be accepted.
