Health programs slated at Kent library

Kent Memorial Library has announced the second part of its “Timely Topics in Healthcare” series.
The four-part series is presented by Prism Health Advocates of Kent, founded by registered nurse Deborah M. Bain.
Prism Health Advocates is a consulting firm specializing in helping patients and families navigate the health care system.
Mary Ann Van Valkenburg, wellness coach, Reiki practitioner and owner of Inscape Awareness in Kent, will lead “Find Your Wellness Within: Learn to Tap into the Tools that are there to Serve You,” Aug. 19 at 2:30 p.m.
Van Valkenburg is a graduate of the Institute for Integrated Nutrition and a member of the Association of American Drugless Practitioners.
Subsequent series topics will include “Diabetes: Our Journey to Our Health,” presented by Anne Bernadrin, from Simple Organizing Solutions of Bondsville, Mass., Oct. 28 at 2:30 p.m. and “Medicare Fraud and Abuse and Scams,” presented by Amanda Halle of Western CT Area on Aging and a CHOICES counselor assisting individuals to navigate Medicare, Dec., 3 at 2:30 p.m.
