'Hats Off' program set at museum

The New Milford Historical
Society & Museum will present
Local resident Ted Hine will discuss how the hat industry flourished in November during the late 1800s until its demise in the 1920s, as well as the complicated and long process that went into making the men's traditional hard hat, or derby, that was fashionable during that period.
Historical society volunteer
Carolyn Critelli will conclude the program by offering a personal perspective of the day-to-day life of working at Danbury's Lee Hat Factory.
The program at the 6 Aspetuck Ave. museum is free for members and $5 for nonmembers.
