The Eric Sloane Museum in Kent will hold a handstone carving demonstration and lecture by stone carver Karin Sprague Aug. 29 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The lecture will begin at 1 p.m., when she will discuss the history of stone carving and how she became part of a small select group of grave stone carvers that carve entirely by hand

She will also discuss the history of epitaphs.
