Kendra's Halo of Hope Walk will be held Oct. 16 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Harrybrooke Park in New Milford.
The walk had been scheduled for Sept. 25 at Canterbury School.
The event is in honor of the late Kendra Cumming, 15, who had beaten leukemia and refused to be defined by Down syndrome and a heart condition.
Festivities will include a walk, a balloon release, a bake sale, a raffle, music by a disc jockey, karaoke, face painting and other activities.
Donations of 33-gallon trash bags, paper towels, rawhide bones and other bones, bleach, disposable gloves, non-clumping cat litter, scrubbing sponges, Citgo gas cards, Nine Lives canned cat food and laundry detergent will be accepted, with donations to benefit the New Milford Animal Welfare Society.
Pledge sheets for the walk are available at the high school and upon request by calling Katrina Cumming at 860-355-0046 or visiting Kendra's Halo for Hope page on Facebook.
Proceeds will benefit A Dream Come True Inc. and Animal Welfare.
