HORSE of Connecticut in Washington will hold its annual kids’ day Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The event will feature pony rides, mini riding lessons, arts and crafts, horseshoe decorating, face painting, necklace and bracelet making, T-shirt tie-dye, an obstacle course and book reading.
In addition to all the festivities, guests will be able to meet the farm’s new Bureau of Land Management Mustangs: 20-year-old Amara and 17-year-old Sassafras.
Both mares were rescued from a kill pen out west and traveled 1,700 miles to get to the farm.
In addition, Abracadabra, a white Quarter Horse mare that came to HORSE few months ago, and Sumer, a chestnut Westphalian mare, will be on hand to greet guests.
A tack shop will also be offered.
