Gun safety, 'personal protection in the home' to be taught soon
Published 6:40 pm, Wednesday, October 5, 2011
Handgun safety programs sponsored by the National Rifle Association will be held Oct. 9 and 29 at the shooters' pistol range in New Milford.
The one-day program will offer the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary for using or owning a handgun.
A national written examination and live-fire range qualification will be conducted.
Program completion is a requirement for application for a state permit in Connecticut and most other states.
The NRA will also offer a "Personal Protection In The Home" course on Nov. 12, which features attorneys Thomas Allingham and Dan Readyoff.
