Coach: Brendan Talbot, 3rd season; 26-13 overall record.

Assistant: Matt Kuchta.

2009 record, accomplishments: 13-3 regular season, 15-5 overall; advanced to the South-West Conference playoff semifinals; beat Southington in state tournament first round.

Graduation losses: All-stater and all-SWC Phil Dobson; all-SWC Drew Haig; all-SWC Adam Haig; all-SWC Tom Hager, Evan Cassells.

2010 captains: Brandon Kuring, Sean McMahon, Matt Saraceno.

Coach's outlook: "The offense will be led byBrandon Kuring, arguably the best player in the SWC, and it looks to be deeper than last year with contributions from Matt Saraceno, Ben Welton, Shamus Higginbottom, Justin Storms, Jake Peterson, Tom DaRos, Devon McLaughlin and Anthony Cipriani, who is recovering from an injury.

"Defensemen and the goalie return intact from 2009, led by Sean McMahon, one of the best takeaway defenders in the state. The other three defensemen are athletic and smart: Austin Swim, Rory Kennedy and Anthony Palumbo. Pedro Gaudencio returns for his third and final season in the goal. He is an emotional leader of the defense and has cat-quick reflexes.

"Every year any one of the top five teams can win the SWC -- New Fairfield, New Milford, Weston, Barlow and Newtown. I expect to be in the hunt in 2010. If we stay healthy and continue to improve, I see no reason we can't be very competitive. Our difficult non-conference schedule will help as we play Conard, Simsbury, Glastonbury and Plainedge from Long Island, N.Y."
