The Kent Historical Society has announced it is the recipient of a $1,500 grant.

The grant was awarded by Connecticut Humanities to support an ambitious program of “Sunday Series” events for the next six months.

Future offerings will include a March 20 discussion on “The Covered Bridges of Litchfield County” by William S. Caswell Jr. and a May 15 presentation by Alicia North of Cornwall on “The Legend of Molly Fisher Rock.”

The historical society’s series programs are regular lectures and presentations that highlight a historical or cultural topic of interest to the people in the Kent.

The events are generally scheduled on the third Sunday of January, March, May, September and November at 2 p.m. at the Kent Town Hall.

Free admission for members and a $5 suggested donation for nonmembers.
