The Connecticut Community Foundation, which serves the Greater New Milford area, will hold its second online community giving challenge May 6 from noon through May 7 at noon.

The foundation distributed $650,000 to 125 participating nonprofits in the region following the foundation's inaugural 24-hour Give Local Greater Waterbury and Litchfield Hills online campaign held in November.

Give Local Greater Waterbury & Litchfield Hills is a 24-hour online giving challenge designed to inspire people in our community to give generously to local nonprofit organizations.

The foundation will partner with more than 100 area nonprofit organizations that provide valuable services throughout our community, and during the challenge, contributions can be made online to participating nonprofits profiled on our dedicated Give Local website at www.GiveLocalCCF.org. Every gift made during the challenge will receive local matching dollars, and nonprofits may be eligible for bonus prizes as well.

The event will coincide with Give Local America, a nationwide online giving event marking the centennial anniversary of community foundations in the United States.

For more information, or if an organization is interested in participating, visit www.GiveLocalCCF.org or contact Maybeth Morales-Davis at 203-753-1315 or mdavis@conncf.org.
