George S. Emerson, 55, of Danbury, died April 8, 2010, at Danbury Hospital.

Mr. Emerson was born May 31, 1954, in Newport, R.I., son of Elizabeth (Delaney) Emerson of Danbury and Ronald J. Emerson, and his wife, Sharon, of Staunton, Va.

He owned and operated his own business, Emerson Pool Water.

Mr. Emerson enjoyed riding his Austin motorcycle and hiking, animals, contemporary and classical music and cooking.

He composed many songs, and was an avid reader of history.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Emerson is survived by his companion, Adriana (Bertola) Emerson; a brother, Kim R. Emerson, and his wife, Katie, and their daughter, Stella, of Saugerties, N.Y.; a nephew, Justin Emerson, of New Milford; two nieces, Jessica McCarthy and Chaldea Emerson, of New Milford; an uncle, Gary Emerson, and his wife, Sandy; his cousins, Gary and Tracy Emerson, of Norfolk, Va., Martin Chapman, of Massachusetts, and Douglas Chapman, of Colorado; and his close and devoted friends, including the Lopez family, of Brookfield.

The Green Funeral Home of Danbury was in charge of arrangements.
