Hollister House Garden in Washington will offer a dahlia walk Aug. 13 at 5 p.m. with George Schoellkopf, the garden's creator and steward for the past 32 years, and Krista Adams, Hollister House's chief gardener.

The property combines the formality of a classic English garden with an abundance of common and exotic plants in surprising combinations.

Last year, the garden was featured on the Martha Stewart Show.

Admission is $10 and includes general admission to the 294 Nettleton Hollow Road garden, which is open Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., and 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. in August and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon, and 2 to 5 p.m. September through Oct. 1.
