Frank Malichio, 73, of Danbury, husband of Arlene (Byrnes) Malichio, died Feb. 16, 2011, surrounded by his family, at New Milford Hospital.

Mr. Malichio was born in New York, N.Y., on March 6, 1937, son of Pauline (Giovaniello) Malichio of Manhattan, N.Y., and the late Michael Malichio.

He worked in the reprographics department of General Reinsurance in Stamford and retired after more than 30 years of employment.

Mr. Malichio was a family man who devoted himself to providing love and support for his wife and seven children.

He enjoyed old movies and music and loved being with his grandchildren.

Mr. Malichio was a lifelong fan of the Detroit Tigers.

In addition to his wife of 53 years, Arlene, and his mother, Pauline, he is survived by his children, Paula St. Amand and her husband, Ron, of Danbury, Laura Campanelli of Branford, Ann Marie Corso and her husband, Gregory, of Danbury, Christine Kijek and her husband, Ed, of Bethel, Frances Mendonca of Danbury, Anthony Malichio of Danbury, and Mary Ann Mitchell and her husband, Robert, of New Milford; his 15 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He is also survived by his brother, Anthony Malichio; two sisters, Nina Messier and her husband, Eddie, and Cathy Malichio; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Cremation will take place at the direction of the family.
