Frank J. D'Alimonte, 86, formerly of New Milford, died May 16 in Port Charlotte, Fla.

He was born in the Bronx, N.Y., to the late Sabatino and Clara D'Alimonte.

A longtime New York and Connecticut resident, he was a retired technical engineer for Pitney Bowes.

He was a World War II Army veteran and was active in many professional organizations.

He enjoyed traveling, golfing and political debating.

He was known for his love of life and jovial personality through the many social gatherings he enjoyed with family and friends.

He is survived by three daughters, Marie D'Alimonte, of Milford; Patricia Campanaro, of Milford; and Christine DiPiazza, and her husband, Joseph, of Nanuet, N.Y.; several grandchildren, Jennifer Campanaro, and her fiancée, Garrett Massimin; Nicole Francoeur, and her husband, Joseph; Danielle Campanaro, Joseph, and Jillian DiPiazza; and a great-grandson, Connor Francoeur. He was predeceased by his first wife, Antonetta (Terlizzi) D'Alimonte.

Roberson Funeral Home and Crematory in Port Charlotte, Fla., was in charge of arrangements.
