The directors of FineLine Theater for the Arts in New Milford have big travel plans this year.

Directors Elizabeth Parkinson and Scott Wise have been chosen by the State Department and the Cultural Attache from the United States Embassy in Russia to travel to Russia.

The theatre couple has been chosen to represent American musical theatre and Broadway in a series of cultural exchanges.

Parkinson and Wise will travel to various schools and universities, conducting workshops in theatre dance, acting, vocal performance, and musical theatre repertory, much as they do at their a conservatory-style performing arts school on Railroad Street.

They will travel as a family with their son, James.

Between Parkinson and Wise, they have four Tony Award nominations, a Tony Award for Wise in Jerome Robbin’s Broadway, and each have received the coveted Broadway Astaire Award.

FineLine offers students a comprehensive education in the artistic discipline(s) of their choice.

The faculty of teaching artists comprises of current and former members of some of the most prestigious dance companies, Broadway shows, theatre schools and university programs in the United States.
