A screening of a documentary that traces the chronological history of horror and monster movies will be given Sept. 30 at 7 p.m. at Bank Street Theater in New Milford.

The documentary was produced, written and narrated by Simon Melzer.

The 30-minute film begins with Georges Melies Cinema of the “Fantastique” in 1896.

It focuses on the films of legendary horror stars, from the silent era with Lon Chaney, the superstardom of Bela Lugosi and Boris Karloff and the emergency of new horror film stars such as Vincent Price and others.

Admission to the screening at the Bank Street theater is free.
