Esther Voelpel, had family in Sherman

Esther (Hogarty) Voelpel, of New Fairfield, died Dec. 18, 2011, after a long, courageous battle with cancer. She was the wife of her soul mate of 55 years, the late Joseph Charles Voelpel.
Mrs. Voelpel dedicated her life to her family, always spending quality time with them, as evident by her attendance at numerous sporting events, dance recitals, concerts, and family gatherings.
She was an active parishioner at St. Edward the Confessor Church. She volunteered and participated in many organizations and activities that focused on helping others.
Mrs. Voelpel is survived by her children, Charlie, and his wife, Chris Voelpel, of Westbury, N.Y., Noreen Clark, of Wallingford, Joe Voelpel Jr., of New Fairfield, Gary, and his wife, Linda Voelpel, of Sherman, Maryann, and her husband, Tom Castrilli, of Cheshire, and David, and his wife, Beverly Voelpel, of Kensington; grandchildren Tori, and her husband, Kenny, Christine, and her husband, Waddah, Matthew, Paul, and his wife, Karri, A.J., Tim, Sean, Kim-Marie, Joey, Kelly, Michael, Catherine, and Kathleen; a great-grandchild, Khaled; and many nieces and nephews.
The Green Funeral Home of Danbury was in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Road Branford, CT 06405, or to a charity of one's choice.
