Eric Gordon Spongberg, 31, of New Milford, died unexpectedly at his home, March 3, 2010.

Mr. Spongberg was born Sept. 5, 1978, in New Milford, son of Edward Spongberg of Danbury and Donna (Napolitano) Spongberg of New Milford.

He attended New Milford schools and was the owner operator of Technique Roofing of New Milford.

He enjoyed fishing, riding his quad and simply spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sisters, and their husbands, Carey (Spongberg) Atherton, and her husband, Anthony Atherton, of New Milford, Shannon (Spongberg) Coolbeth, and her husband, Justin Coolbeth, of Summerville, S.C., and Martha `Susy' (Pichilla) Brunsman, and her husband, Jason Brunsman, of San Diego, Calif.; four nieces and nephews, Payton and Brett Coolbeth, and Aidan and Tierney Atherton.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated today (Friday) at 11 a.m. in St. Francis Xavier Church in New Milford. Burial will be in Upper Merryall Cemetery in New Milford.

The Colonial Funeral Home of New Milford was in charge of arrangements.
