The ninth annual Eric Evans memorial scramble golf tournament will be played Aug. 2 with a 10 a.m. shutgun start at the Club at River Oaks in Sherman.

The event is held annually in memory of Eric Evans, who died Sept. 1, 2001 in Tower Two of the New York World Trade Center. Proceeds will benefit the Eric Evans Memorial Charitable Fund to help various 9-11 organizations, as well as the National Disaster Search Dog Foundation.

Cost of $175 will include greens fee, cart, gift pack, grilled lunch and a dinner buffet.

Prizes will be given to the top teams,and for longest drive, straightest drive and closest to the pin.
