Engaged: Rachel Yonika, Michael Ammirata

John and Marge Yonika of Transylvania Road, Roxbury, announce the engagement of their daughter, Rachel Anne, to Michael Ammirata, son of Michael and Margaret Ammirata of Mountain Road, Redding.

The future bride graduated from Shepaug Valley High School in Washington, from Western Connecticut State University in Danbury with a bachelor's degree and from North Carolina State University in Raleigh, N.C., with a master's degree in animal science. She will be pursuing a degree in veterinary medicine.

The future bridegroom graduated from Joel Barlow High School in Redding and from Western Connecticut State University with a bachelor's degree in biology. He is employed by North Carolina State University.

A June 9 wedding is planned.
