Engaged: Alexandra Wood, Ryan Mitchell

Edward and Deborah Wood of Hilton Head, S.C., announce the engagement of their daughter, Alexandra, to Ryan Mitchell, son of Tom and Cheryl Mitchell of New Milford.

The future bride graduated from Hilton Head Island High School and from Coastal Carolina University, with a bachelor's degree in education. She is a kindergarten teacher at Myrtle Beach Primary School, Myrtle Beach, S.C.

The future bridegroom graduated from New Milford High School and from Coastal Carolina University with a bachelor's degree in sports management. He is an account executive for idealapeel in Myrtle Beach.

An October wedding is planned.
