Eileen Anderson, 97, was a retired cafeteria worker

Eileen C. Anderson, 97, of New Milford, died March 5, 2010, at Candlewood Valley Health and Rehabilitation Center, New Milford. She was the widow of Raymond V. Anderson.

Mrs. Anderson was born April 6, 1912, in Newport, England, daughter of the late John and Catherine (Calnan) Connolley.

She was a cafeteria worker in the Food Service Department of New Milford schools for 20 years, retiring in 1974.

A resident of New Milford since 1943, Mrs. Anderson was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church and the Confraternity of the Rosary of St. Francis Xavier Church, as well as an American Red Cross volunteer for blood drives for 35 years, an active supporter of the New Milford Senior Center and a former member of the Homemakers Club.

Mrs. Anderson is survived by a son, John R. Anderson, and his wife, Jane, of Fort Atkinson, Wis.; a daughter, Patricia R. Anderson, of Reno, Nev.; and two grandchildren, Sarah J. and Lisa M. Anderson.

The Lillis Funeral Home of New Milford was in charge of arrangements.
