Edward "Dad" "Poppy" Richard Hager, 88, a native of Bridgewater, died July 26, 2010, surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Barbara (Aspinwall) Hager.
Mr. Hager was born Feb. 8, 1922, son of the late Walter and Margaret (Krusky) Hager.
He retired from the town of Bridgewater at the age of 70.
Mr. Hager was an avid fisherman, photographer, woodworker and world traveler who was dedicated to his family.
In addition to his wife of 62 years, Mr. Hager is survived by his children, Valerie Fisher, Bonnie Lathrop, and her husband, David, Linda Jaquith, and her husband, Arthur, and Deb Morin, and her husband, Gary; numerous grandchildren, Eddie and Dianna Fisher, Chris and Jenny Fisher, Michelle and Steve Klee, Danielle and Jason Livingston, Tim and Jeanne Jaquith, Tiffany Jaquith, and Kallin and Landon Morin; four great-grandsons and another one on the way; a sister, Eleanor Baldwick; and a brother, Wilbur Hager. He was predeceased by a brother, Walter Hager.
The Lillis Funeral Home of New Milford was in charge of arrangements.
