Dwayne Lamar Dunn, 24, of Fort Hill Road in New Milford was to be extradited Thursday to Arkansas to face a capital attempted murder charge.

Mr. Dunn is wanted in Arkansas for the June 18 beating and stabbing of a man in the town of Springdale. He was served with a fugitive extradition warrant July 14 while appearing in Bantam Superior Court on unrelated charges.

The New Milford resident waived his right to fight the extradition to Arkansas, said Public Defender Julie Strzemiewski, who is representing him.

Ms. Strzemiewski said she could not discuss how the pending charges in Connecticut were being dispatched.

Mr. Dunn faced third-degree larceny and third-degree burglary charges, dating back to December 2007 in Connecticut.

He was held in the New Haven Correctional Institute since his July 14 appearance in Bantam Superior Court.
