Dorothy Palmer, 76, enjoyed country music

Dorothy I. "Dottie" Palmer, 76, lost her battle with Alzheimers, May 29, 2010, at the Candlewood Valley Health and Rehabilitation Center in New Milford. She was the widow of Clifton Palmer.
Mrs. Palmer was born May 6, 1934, daughter of the late Victor and Ethel Sonderaard.
She grew up in Easton on her family's farm and lived most of her life in Redding, where she was a member of the Redding Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and was responsible for sewing the parade banner they carried for many years.
Mrs. Palmer worked for Bardens, Columbia Magnetics and retired from Eaton Corporation in 1999.
In retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her granddaughter, Kasey. She also enjoyed country music and baking.
Mrs. Palmer is survived by a son, Robert Banthin; a daughter, Karen (Banthin) Strobino, and her husband, Gary, and their daughter, Kasey, of New Milford; and a son, David Palmer, of Brooklyn, N.Y.
Services will be private and under the direction of the Bouton Funeral Home of Georgetown.
