Dorothy J. Mattiace, 50, of Sherman, died suddenly July 1, 2010, at her home. She was the wife of Carl Mattiace.
Mrs. Mattiace was born Nov. 12, 1959, in Yonkers, N.Y., daughter of Robert and Marion (Esposito) Chamberlain, of New Fairfield.
She graduated from Brewster High School in 1977.
On March 6, 1982, she married Carl Mattiace in Sacred Heart Church in Patterson, N.Y.
Mrs. Mattiace had lived in Dover Plains, N.Y., before moving to Sherman 11 years ago.
She was a medical assistant for 15 years with Taconic DDSO in Amenia, N.Y.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Mattiace is survived by two children, Crystal Mattiace, of Stormville, N.Y., and John Mattiace, of Sherman; two brothers, Robert Chamberlain, of Patterson, N.Y., and Brian Chamberlain, of LaGrange, N.Y.; a sister, Kelli Raines, of New Fairfield; two grandchildren, Austin Mattiace, 8, and David Howell, 2; and her mother-in-law, Jean Mattiace, of Putnam Lake. She was predeceased by a son, Carl A. Mattiace Jr., in April of 2003.
The Beecher Funeral Home of Brewster was in charge of arrangements.
