Docents sought for historical society

The New Milford Historical Society & Museum is seeking individuals interested in becoming a docent.
A docent is a volunteer “gallery teacher” or “museum ambassador” who will share what they know about New Milford history, the decorative arts, antiques and the fine arts or American history.
Docents will help visitors get the most out of their time while they are visiting our museum.
Experienced and knowledgeable volunteers as well as the museum’s curator, Lisa Roush, will teach the new training session.
Training will include the history of our town, and the museum and its diverse collection.
Approximately three sessions will be held beginning in September.
The museum is open to the public for tours from Tuesdays through Fridays and Sundays from noon to 3 p.m., as well as in the evenings and Saturdays for special events.
For more information, call the 6 Aspetuck Ave. museum at 860-354-3069.
