New Milford resident Allan Darrow will compete in a 24-hour high-intensity event, "The World's Toughest Mudder," Nov. 16 to 17 as a benefit for VNA Northwest, which serves the Greater New Milford area.
Darrow will compete in memory of his mother, Allison D. Downs, who died in June and had received hospice care from VNA Northwest.
"I vowed to continue the fight against (cancer) any way that I could," Darrow said of what he told his mother minutes before she died.
