Cops: Man found sleeping off heroin high at McDonald’s

NEW MILFORD — A 27-year-old local man was found sleeping through a heroin high in McDonald’s restaurant bathroom Sunday, police said.
Matthew Cabral, of County Farm Lane, New Milford was found asleep in the men’s bathroom at 48 Danbury Road when police responded to a call for a suspicious person. He had fallen asleep after using heroin, police said. On getting consent from Cabral to search his vehicle, officers found narcotics and drug paraphernalia there, according to police.
Cabral was charged with possession of a controlled substance/narcotic, illegal possession of narcotics withing 1,500 feet of a school, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released on $1,000 bond with a court date Sept. 28 in Superior Court in Bantam.
