The board of Minor Memorial Library in Roxbury will sponsor "Computer Tips & Tricks," a program designed to help people become more adept at using their computers, Jan. 6 t 5:30 p.m.

Bill Chin, head of Software Matters in Roxbury, will lead the kickoff session at the South Street library. The introductory session will develop an agenda for future meetings.

Stretching over several weeks, the program will give participants an opportunity to learn about topics that interest them, such as how to use email, how to use Skype, how to join Facebook and other social media and how to search the Internet.
