The Greater Washington Coalition for Jewish Life is celebrating its 20th anniversary.
Created by a group of Jewish families in 1996, the organization promotes Judaism and Jewish culture through its services and programs and has grown to a membership of more than 100 families.
Members participate in monthly Shabbat services and Jewish holiday services conducted by a full-time spiritual leader.
In addition, the coalition sponsors regular lectures, discussions and celebrations.
The coalition draws people from neighboring towns, including Bridgewater, Litchfield, New Milford, Oxford, Southbury, Torrington and others.
The organization serves a broad community made up of traditional Jewish families, interfaith families, Jews-by-Choice and the unaffiliated.
The coalition welcomes all, regardless of gender, race, marital status, sexual orientation, ethnic background or political affiliation, who seek knowledge about Judaism.
