Clarence Krasselt, 89, was an Army veteran

Clarence (Corky) Krasselt, 89, of New Preston, died peacefully Nov. 11, 2010, at New Milford Hospital.
Mr. Krasselt was born Sept. 24, 1921, in Warren, son of the late Emma and Paul Krasselt, who were the proprietors of the Krasselt store in New Preston.
He was in the Army and was a veteran of World War II.
Mr. Krasselt was a volunteer firefighter with the Washington Fire Department for 64 years.
He was a member of the American Legion of Washington, as well as a member of a chapter of the Connecticut Freemasons.
When he was younger he loved baseball and played third base for the New Preston Hillies.
Mr. Krasselt leaves behind his wife, Joan, of 37 years; and nine children, Linda Andrighetti, of Torrington, Judy Pitchard, of New Milford, Jimmy Fletcher, of Kent, Winford Fletcher, of New Milford, Michael Krasselt, of Georgia, Wayne Fletcher, of New Preston, Terry Krasselt, of New Preston, Kennia Krasselt, of Torrington and David Krasselt, of New York.
He also leaves behind 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at the Washington Green Cemetery in Washington tomorrow (Saturday) at 1 p.m.
