Claire Oerzen, 90, summered on lake

Claire M. Oerzen, 90, of Long Island, N.Y., who summered in New Milford, died Feb. 26. She was the wife of Bob Oerzen for 69 years.
She was born Dec. 3, 1922, and was a full-time resident of Long Island.
Mrs. Oerzen was a 49-year resident on Candlewood Lake in New Milford. She loved spending summers on the lake with her family and friends.
She was known as an awesome cook and baker and was most especially known for her apple pie.
Mrs. Oerzen is described as a world-class entertainer who loved a good party.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Oerzen is survived by a son, Robert Oerzen Jr., and his wife, Caryl; three daughters, Maryjane Rey, and her husband, Frank; Diane "Dee-Dee" Baron, and her husband, Greg; and Susan D'Amico, and her husband, Frank; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Kathleen Trezza.
The Thomas F. Dalton Funeral Home in Floral Park, L.I., was in charge of arrangements.
