Northville Baptist Church in New Milford will celebrate the installation of its new pastor Jan. 22 at 10 a.m.

The church will celebrate the Rev. Calvin Fergins Jr. with a special installation service and luncheon at the 9 Little Bear Hill Road church.

Fergins Jr. is originally a native of the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.

He graduated from Elim Bible Institute in Lima, N.Y., with a pastoral ministry diploma in the spring of 2006.

After Elim, Fergins spent six months serving as a missionary in Northern Ireland and Serbia through Youth With A Mission.

In 2013, Fergins earned a master of divinity degree from Moravian Theological Seminary in Bethlehem, Pa.

Fergins initially planned on being a professor of American Christian history after seminary, but he was called to pastoral ministry.

Before accepting the call to serve as Northville Baptist Church’s, Fergins ministered as a pastoral intern, chaplain and associate pastor.

The pastor and his wife, Lindsey, were married in February of 2016 in Columbus, Ohio.

They are expecting their first child this summer.
