Chemero, Candlewood/Fat City claim softball honors

Updated 12:14 pm, Sunday, September 2, 2012

  • A title for #44

The Chemero Group had extra motivation this summer in its quest to win the 'A' division title of the New Milford Parks & Recreation men's slowpitch softball league. The team had dedicated its efforts to Frank Becker, a longtime teammate who has been ill and unable to don his familiar #44. Combining their diamond talents to earn the championship trophy were, from left to right, front row, Norman Abair, Joe Chemero, Mike Barberio, shown holding his son, Gianni, Rich Morea and Ernie Parker; back row, Davey Parker, Donnie Wright, Jason Maxwell, Kevin Zaloski, Aaron Johnson and Jeff Osborne. Absent were John Bernardi, Josh Shaw, Ryan Hawley, Nate Rinas and Frank Becker Jr. August 2012
