State Rep. Clark Chapin, R-67, has received unanimous Republican endorsement as the GOP candidate for the 30th state Senate District seat.

Rep. Chapin was nominated at Monday's convention in Kent by State Sen. Andrew Roraback, R-30, who has represented the district for 12 years and is now a candidate for the 5th District Congressional seat.

Some 50 delegates participated in Monday's convention, representing 14 towns in the 30th District.

"I'm honored and humbled," Mr. Chapin said. "Andrew has set the bar quite high, so I'm especially grateful that I have gained the unanimous support and confidence of so many people across the district this early in the race."

Mr. Chapin has represented New Milford residents for 12 years in the state General Assembly.
