The Sherman Chamber Ensemble will share its interpretation of the story “Ferdinand the Bull,” via a free classical concert Aug. 8 at 2 p.m.

The concert will be given at Sherman Library in Sherman Center.

Flutist Susan Rotholz will narrate the story and be accompanied by Eliot Bailen on cello.

The program will present classical music in a format that is both intimate and inspiring for children and their parents, and continues a long-standing partnership between the Library and the ensemble.

Also on the program list are “Lullaby for String Quartet,” by George Gershwin and “String Quartet in D major op. 44, no. 1” by Felix Mendelssohn.

Rotholz and Bailen will be joined by Jill Levy and Doori Na on violin, and Keats Dieffenbach on viola.

A meet and greet reception with the artists will follow.
