The Roger Sherman Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, which serves the Greater New Milford area, will host a ceremony honoring local World War I and Civil War veterans Nov. 10 at 6 p.m.

The ceremony, which will be held at the World War I monument on the Village Green, will celebrate the monument's recent restoration.

It will coincide with the VFW Ladies' Auxiliary's Candelight for a Veteran campaign, with luminaries lighted around the Green.

A reception will follow in St. John's Episcopal Church hall on Whittlesey Avenue.

The monument is being restored by Francis Miller of Hamden, owner of ConserArt, LLC.

He has restored the historical bronze plaque at town hall and the Lincoln monument at the north end of the Green.
