The New Milford Commission on the Arts will hold its annual Carol Sing Dec. 19 from 7 to 8 p.m. at the bandstand on the Village Green.

Al Bayers will lead the singing, accompanied by Bob Keck and members of the New Milford High School chorus. The New Milford Commission on the Arts will provide song booklets and candles. Residents should bring flashlights.

Escorted by Water Witch Hose Co. No. 2, in an annual parade of lights, Santa will arrive during the Carol Sing about 7:30 p.m.

A pre-Carol Sing program reminiscent of past programs will be offered from 5 to 7 p.m.

Housatonic Valley Insurance Agency, Berkshire Hathaway Realtors and Bank Street Theater will sponsor horse-drawn carriage rides around the Green. During that time, Santa will hold visiting hours at the Berkshire Hathaway office on Main Street.

Hot chocolate and cider will be served on the Green.

The carol sing was inaugurated in 1977 in conjunction with the New Milford Commission on the Arts by Skitch Henderson, then the conductor of the New York Pops and a New Milford resident, who died in 2005.
