To the Editor:
The new speed bumps, or whatever they're called, make the village of New Milford an uninviting, even hostile, place to visit.
If you needed ramps for wheelchairs, make them on the curb like every other city in America.
Main Street does not -- and did not -- have a speeding problem.
This is one of the dumbest ideas yet and no business I've talked to likes it.
They are cheaply made (asphalt) and are going to look terrible really soon anyway. Just rip them out.
What a waste of money and resources. Why don't you spend it on something worthwhile, like painting and re-opening the Boardman Bridge, or save it for the next railroad crossing repair, which will be coming again soon enough.
