New Milford's Community Emergency Response Team will conduct a CERT Day June 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the Village Green.
Representatives of the team will provide emergency preparedness information and information about the CERT program.
Activities will include CPR demonstrations every hour on the half hour starting at 10:30 a.m., and an emergency preparedness quiz.
The team will hold basic CERT classes in September, which includes disaster preparedness, medical operations, fire safety, disaster psychology, light search operations, CERT team organization and ICS, and terrorism and CERT.
Individuals who complete the course are eligible to join the New Milford team.
New Milford CERT assists the town in emergencies (primarily operating an emergency shelter), and activities held by town entities such as the Parks & Recreation Department, the Health Department and New Milford Hospital.
The group can and has also been called upon to assist other local towns.
